Why lose weight?

Shouldn’t you be happy with who you are?

My wife’s thinking is, many people who try to lose weight are working through their issues with food. Many people who are working through their issues with food approach these issues as if they’re broken.

And they’re not broken.

Here’s the thing. I agree with my wife. Like many of our arguments, we are usually coming from the same place. I believe people need to see themselves as good. People need to approach their lives not from a place of fallow, but abundance.

The only difference, if there is any, is I think you can balance such thinking with trying to be better. I wrote about this before because I think it’s truly important.

If we don’t also try to do something with the life given us, then we are not being generous with the life given us.
